In this lesson, Nate explains harmonic rhythm — and specifically the half of it that almost nobody teaches. Harmonic rhythm has two variables: how often the chords change, and where in the measure each change lands. The first one is common knowledge. The second one is the difference between a good rhythm part and a great one — land a change on beat one and it feels grounded and predictable; land it early, late, or on an offbeat and the listener's ears perk up. Same chords, same order, completely different feel.
